All Good Things

This past week has been a good one… lots of homesteading and cooking from scratch. I’m honing in on what exactly I want my blog to look like and I’ve decided I’m going to start posting pictures as well. So bear with me as I figure out how to do that. I want the cute little pictures, not the HUGE blown up ones.. That’s the goal and I’m sure it will only get better!

This chemo was a rough one… the first one after having a 7 week break. I didn’t realize how bad I was feeling until it wasn’t bad anymore and I felt amazing during that break. Coming back was like hitting a rock with my head… but I know 100% that this is the treatment God wants me to have in this season of life. So chemo it is. I also have His peace and I’m so grateful for that.

This week LOTS of meals were cooked, but I only snapped a picture of this roasted chicken. This particular chicken was cooked for a friend and I’m so glad to share my new found love of cooking with another family. I used this chicken to make white chicken chili (even though it’s spring).. I wanted something they could easily heat up… and I wanted to really cook for them.

I snapped this picture last week… I believe on the way to chemo. I was in awe of the beautiful green of spring. Now, these trees have budded and it’s even more beautiful… I absolutely love where we live. In the Amish country… rolling hills, lush green grass, livestock everywhere, gardens and fields… it’s my own slice of paradise.

And finally, the last update for today: I GOT DIRT IN MY GARDEN BED! This is fertilized dirt from the amish that is ready for planting. I’ve ordered seeds and they should be in Friday. Too bad it’s storming all week, but when it’s nice again, and the ground drys out some, I’ll get some seeds in the dirt and begin my new summer routine of watering and cultivating a garden.
